{"id":51,"date":"2011-07-08T15:13:59","date_gmt":"2011-07-08T19:13:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/rilke\/?page_id=51"},"modified":"2011-08-07T07:34:09","modified_gmt":"2011-08-07T11:34:09","slug":"reserving-a-hotel","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/rilke\/accommodations\/reserving-a-hotel\/","title":{"rendered":"Reservations"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\">Reserving a Hotel<\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">We have arranged discounted rates and asked for rooms to be set aside for our group at two inns and one hotel. <strong>You must make your own booking directly with the hotels<\/strong> (credit card needed): in order to secure one of the discounted\/reserved rooms, <strong>identify yourself as a member of the Rilke Society<\/strong> when you reserve your room.<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\">Please note that the block of hotel rooms held at discounted rates for the Rilke conference are available only through <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Sunday, August 21<\/strong><\/span>. After that date, hotel rooms &#8212; if you find any available &#8212; will be more expensive.<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\">Hotel Policies<\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">All US hotels ask for a credit-card  number to hold the reservation. Common practice is to charge the first  night\u2019s payment to the card immediately,with the balance due upon  check-out. Should you cancel a reservation more than two weeks before  the reservation start date, all charges (or all but a $20 fee) are  generally refunded, but it is wise to check with the individual hotel  about its specific cancellation policy.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\">Boston Neighborhoods<\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Tips <\/strong>for those using online booking consolidators to find alternative hotels: proximate neighborhoods are <em>Fenway<\/em>, <em>Back Bay<\/em>, and the northern part of <em>Brookline<\/em>. The <em>Longwood<\/em>neighborhood is also not far, but requires walking or bus trips (also included in a $15 weekly T pass), since there is no direct T (subway\/streetcar) connection to Longwood (<em>Allston<\/em> and <em>Brighton<\/em> are downscale student neighborhoods and could work if one were close enough to a T line.)<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Reserving a Hotel We have arranged discounted rates and asked for rooms to be set aside for our group at two inns and one hotel.
