As you know, the Red Hat Collaboratory at Boston University launched on December 1, 2016.  Over the last five years, Red Hat and Boston University have created a new model to enable collaborations among systems researchers within the Computer Science (CS), Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) departments and the open source community. The model has successfully enabled Boston University researchers to perform impactful systems research, accelerate advances in open source and Red Hat products, and positively impact both engineering recruitment at Red Hat and faculty and Ph.D. recruitment at Boston University, all while providing Boston University ECE and CS students with differentiated experiential learning opportunities. A list of joint projects is here.  This RFP and the awards that are granted as a result are a central element of the kick-off of this exciting, expanded partnership.
