I was born in Danvers, Massachusetts, but grew up in the bustling metropolis of Hudson, Florida. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Theatre from the University of Central Florida, and then earned my Master of Arts in College Student Personnel from Bowling Green State University. Prior to working at Boston University, I worked in Residence Life at Heidelberg University and Emmanuel College. I have served in a variety of roles in the department, but my current position allows me to work with staff training and selection, the educational and programmatic initiatives that come out of the department, the Faculty in Residence program, the Residence Hall Councils, and the implementation of our residential curriculum.<\/p>\n

Outside of work, I enjoy using my Peloton, watching live theatre and comedy shows in Boston, cooking, baking, singing along to 90\u2019s pop music, and improv. I am an avid reader and podcast listener and spend time solving fake murder mysteries with friends (via subscription boxes). In addition, I watch far too much TV, bake the world\u2019s best banana bread, love all things sparkly, and telling stories! I\u2019m on a quest for the best pizza and best steak in Boston, so I am open to suggestions! The best part of my job is connecting with students and improving services for them, so feel free to stop by my office and say hi!<\/p>\n

A native of Buffalo, NY, I am no stranger to our New England winters. I maintain that I originally moved to the Boston area because my husband is a born-and-raised Red Sox fan from Syracuse, NY. However, anyone can tell you that I am just as big a fan, especially as October draws near (on a good year!). I began working at BU as a Hall Director in Warren Towers in 2005 and then cozied up in South Campus for several years with my husband and two kiddos, now 16 and 12 (who have only ever known the BU campus as their stomping grounds!). In May of 2012, I had the great honor to receive my M.Ed. in Policy, Planning & Administration from BU and can now call myself a true Terrier! In most recent years, since 2018, I have returned to a first year neighborhood now overseeing West Campus, where each Fall, I get to be a part of the very first steps of our students\u2019 journeys in ways that will shape how they call BU \u201chome.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hello! I\u2019m a life-long Massachusetts resident. I completed my undergraduate degree at the state\u2019s flagship University, UMass Amherst. I loved my college experience – so much so that I pursued my Master\u2019s degree at Suffolk University, concentrating on Higher Education Administration. I worked in a career services office, but realized that the day-to-day issues that students face in campus living was far more interesting than looking at resumes every day. \u00a0That realization led me to BU, where I\u2019ve played a role in 4 of the 6 BU neighborhoods!\u00a0In my spare time, I\u00a0enjoy exploring various neighborhoods around Boston, either by foot or on the T. I love to travel and my three favorite cities to visit are NYC, \u00a0Paris, and Perth, Australia. In college, I was a DJ (carting around my vinyl in milk crates\u2026) and listening to music is still one of my favorite pastimes. My genres of choice are varied \u2013 from yacht rock to metal to opera. If you have a new band to share, let me know \u2013 it\u2019s so much easier now with instant gratification, but I do sort of miss digging through the stacks at a record store.<\/p>\n

\"GerryI was born and raised in North Adams, part of the beautiful Berkshire County, where I worked as an internal auditor at a local bank.\u00a0 In the early 1980\u2019s our family relocated to Hadley, MA where for 6 years I worked as a paralegal for a law firm in Northampton.\u00a0 In\u00a0 February, 1993, my late husband and I joined the staff at Boston University\u2014he as the Director of Custodial Services and I as the assistant to the Clinical Education Professors for the Physical Therapy Department at Sargent College.\u00a0 I now work as the Fiscal and Operations Administrator for Residence Life where I manage the department\u2019s budget.\u00a0 As part of the central Residence Life staff, my role involves primarily fiscal interaction with the Administrative Secretaries, Area and Residence Hall Directors, and Assistant Directors, which includes ensuring that all of the Residence Life staff, including the student employees, are paid.<\/p>\n

As much as I love taking advantage of all that the great city of Boston has to offer with its museums, shows and winning sports teams, at the end of the day I look forward to heading to the beautiful little town of Sutton which is currently home for me.<\/p>\n

\"\"Born and raised in New York. However, my family is from New Orleans and traveling between the two place is part of my identity. I attended New York University for my undergraduate studies and received a Bachelor\u2019s of Science in Applied Psychology. Post-undergraduate studies I worked for College Advising Corps for about two years. I worked with high school students in a high need community serving as their college advisor. My work as a college advisor gave me the director to pursue a Master\u2019s at Boston University. I earned a Master\u2019s of Education in Policy, Planning, and Administration with a focus in Higher Education Administration. My graduate studies led me to work in Residence Life at Boston University, where I work as an Area Director for South Campus. In addition, to working with students I enjoy walking around Boston. Originally from the Midwest, I graduated from Indiana University with a bachelor’s degree in Classical Studies and Religious Studies and many years later with a master’s degree in Public Health. For the past four years I’ve worked as a director of a first-year Living Learning Community at Indiana University, but before that I’ve worked as a clothing store manager, freelance copyeditor, pastry chef and Chief Operations Officer of a chocolate shop, a personal trainer, and a health coach. All of my roles centered around supporting and mentoring students in all aspects of their lives and I am very excited to be at Boston University continuing that role. While not working I’m running (and I’m always looking for a running buddy!), readings (book recommendations, please!), or exploring the various restaurants around Boston.<\/p>\n
