Joseph Lee

Joe Lee joined BU’s Office of Technology Development in December 2021 as an Intellectual Property and Agreements Specialist. He is responsible for the management of government compliance matters and invention disclosure intake for all technologies emerging from the Boston University Charles River Campus, the Boston University Medical Campus, and Boston Medical Center. He also helps maintain the accuracy and integrity of the office’s patent database.

Prior to working at BU, Joe worked for three years at MIT’s Technology Licensing Office as an Intellectual Property Assistant, offering administrative support for the office’s licensing and legal teams while also liaising with outside counsel regarding outstanding patent matters across the entirety of MIT’s portfolio.

Joe holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth in History and two Master of Science degrees from the University of Edinburgh in Renaissance and Early Modern Studies as well as Religious Studies.

Outside of his duties at BU, Joe is also an author and his debut fantasy novel will be releasing in the fall of 2022.
