Emma Zheng

Assistant Director for Graduate Training and Programming

Emma Zheng joins Professional Development and Postdoctoral Affairs as the Assistant Director for Graduate Training and Programming. In this role, Emma manages and oversees several key programs and resources available to graduate students, which includes initiatives related to diversity, equity, and inclusion; training opportunities such as Response Conduct of Research (RCR); PhD internships, internal fellowships, and childcare stipend awards; and providing support for student appeal processes. She is also a part of BU’s Newbury Center’s Terrier F1RSTS Advocates, FY 101 Instructor, and a mentor for the Boston Public School Community Scholars Program.

Prior to her current role, Emma worked as the Undergraduate Academic Advisor for the Political Science department at the College of Arts & Sciences where she provided academic advising to a case load of approximately 600 political science majors and minors. She graduated with a B.A. in Geology from Hamilton College in 2016, and obtained her Ed.M. in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies with a sub concentration in higher education administration from BU’s Wheelock College of Education and Human Development in 2021.
