NIH and AHRQ Increase Salary Limitation for FY 2021 to $199,300
NIH & AHRQ have issued updated guidance regarding the salary limitations for FY 2021 reflecting an increase in the Executive Level II salary level from $197,300 to $199,300 effective January 3, 2021. See NIH Guidance NOT-OD-21-057 and AHRQ Guidance NOT-HS-21-007 for detailed information.
The new salary cap may be used for budgeting purposes effectively immediately. If adequate funds are available in active awards that were issued in those years restricted to Executive Level II (see the historical record of salary cap link), and if the salary cap increase is consistent with the institutional base salary, grantees may rebudget to accommodate the current Executive Level II salary level effective January 3, 2021. However, no additional funds will be provided for these grant awards.
