All information in this announcement is subject to change.<\/strong> <\/p><\/div><\/div>\n<h2>Objectives<\/h2>\n<p>The Susan G. Komen (SGK) Career Transition Awards (CTA) and Career Catalyst Research (CCR) grants are intended to support cutting-edge breast cancer research that will provide the greatest benefit to patients. SGK focuses on conquering metastatic and aggressive breast cancers, advancing personalized breast care and eliminating breast cancer disparities and inequities. Research projects must be hypothesis-driven, breast cancer-focused studies. They may be considered basic, translational, clinical and\/or population science in nature and should align with SGK\u2019s mission to save lives.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Career Transition Awards (CTA)<\/strong> aims to help outstanding senior postdoctoral and clinical research fellows launch their competitive, independent breast cancer research careers. \u00a0<strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Career Catalyst Research (CCR)<\/strong> grants foster promising breast cancer researchers who are in the early stages of their faculty careers who will emerge as the next key leaders in the fight against breast cancer. SGK seeks to support investigators with \u201cprotected time\u201d for research career development under the guidance of a Mentor Committee.<\/p>\n<h2>Funding Information<\/h2>\n<h3>CTA<\/h3>\n<p>Up to <strong>$650,000<\/strong> over up to <strong>5 years<\/strong> over two phases of the Award as follows:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><u>Phase 1<\/u>: Up to $100,000 per year (direct costs only) for up to 2 years may be requested to support the final years of postdoctoral work.<\/li>\n<li><u>Phase 2<\/u>: Up to $150,000 per year (direct and indirect costs) for up to 3 years to support for independent research as tenure-track investigators.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>CCR<\/h3>\n<p>Up to <strong>$150,000<\/strong> <strong>per year<\/strong> for up to <strong>3 years<\/strong> ($450,000 total) in combined direct and indirect costs.<\/p>\n<h2>Eligibility<\/h2>\n<h3>CTA<\/h3>\n<p>Applicants must:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Be pursuing independent breast cancer research careers.<\/li>\n<li>Be in the final years of mentored postdoctoral research training positions. Clinical fellows are considered eligible and equal to the postdoctoral rank.<\/li>\n<li>Have <u>no more than five years<\/u> of total postdoctoral research experience at the time of Letter of Intent submission (July 24, 2026 **Anticipated)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>CCR<\/h3>\n<p>Applicants must:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Currently hold a full-time faculty appointment or have a formal offer letter from the Institution that confirms position and start date by the Application due date (October 2, 2026 **Anticipated).<\/li>\n<li>NOT have held any faculty appointment, including non-tenure and tenure track appointments combined, for more than a total of 6 years by the Application due date (October 2, 2026 **Anticipated).<\/li>\n<li>NOT currently be or have been a Principal Investigator on an existing NIH R01 grant or their equivalent as of the date of Award Notification (on or around April 15, 2027 **Anticipated).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Internal Selection Process<\/h2>\n<p>The internal selection process depends on whether your grants are managed by BU or Boston Medical Center (BMC).
