Upcoming Changes to the NIH Notice of Award (NoA) Beginning October 1, 2020<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

Notice\u00a0<\/span>NOT-OD-20-155<\/a>\u00a0announces information on upcoming changes to the format of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) Notice of Award (NoA) effective October 1, 2020.\u00a0 HHS has developed a standardized Page One of the NoA that will be used as the first page of every HHS NoA for all discretionary awards.\u00a0 Award data (Section I), payment information (Section\u00a0 II), and applicable terms and conditions of award (Sections III\/IV) will continue to be provided in the NoA following Page One.<\/span><\/p>\n

Additional implementation details, samples and other resources will be posted on the\u00a0<\/span>View Notice of Award webpage<\/a>\u00a0on the eRA public website as they become available in the coming weeks.<\/span><\/p>\n

Temporary Extension of Eligibility for the NIH K99\/R00 Pathway to Independence Award During the COVID-19 Pandemic<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

Notice\u00a0<\/span>NOT-OD-20-158<\/a>\u00a0informs the extramural community that due to disruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, NIH will be providing up to a two receipt cycle extension (roughly eight additional months) of eligibility for prospective applicants meeting the requirements for submission of an application for a K99\/R00 Pathway to Independence award from the time period covered by the June\/July 2020 due dates through the February\/March 2021 due dates. Eligibility applies only to applicants for a K99\/R00 award under one of the parent Funding Opportunity Announcements (<\/span>PA-20-187<\/a>,\u00a0<\/span>PA-20-188<\/a>, and\u00a0<\/span>PA-20-189<\/a>).<\/span><\/p>\n

Extending the Special Exception to the NIH\/AHRQ\/NIOSH Post-Submission Material Policy During the COVID 19 Pandemic<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

Notice\u00a0<\/span>NOT-OD-20-163<\/a>\u00a0extends the special exception for post-submission material (see\u00a0<\/span>NOT-OD-20-123<\/a>) to applications submitted for the May 2021 Council (<\/span>beginning with applications submitted for the September 25, 2020 due date for Spring 2020 review meetings<\/i>. NIH, AHRQ and NIOSH will accept a one-page update with preliminary data as post-submission materials for applications submitted under all activity codes.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>ONLY\u00a0<\/span><\/b>if the Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) used for submission allowed preliminary data in the application.<\/span><\/p>\n

The deadline for submitting all post-submission materials, including preliminary data, will be 30 days before the study section meeting.\u00a0 Applications for emergency competitive revisions and urgent competitive revisions undergo expedited review; therefore, post-submission materials will not be accepted for those applications.<\/span><\/p>\n

All other materials listed in\u00a0<\/span>NOT-OD-19-083<\/a>\u00a0as acceptable post-submission materials will continue to be accepted if submitted 30 days before the study section meeting.<\/span><\/p>\n
