Working alone is prohibited in certain laboratories (as described in laboratory-specific SOPs) and is discouraged in all other laboratories. In the event a worker must work alone in the laboratory, these guidelines should be followed:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Schedule work so that hazardous tasks are performed during times when the worker is not alone.<\/li>\n<li>The worker should inform a co-worker, or even a friend, family member, colleague that they will be in the laboratory alone and give them information on who to contact in the event the worker does not check in.<\/li>\n<li>On the Boston University Medical Campus (BUMC), the worker can notify Public Safety at 414-4444 and officers will include the laboratory on the building\u2019s walk-through, if applicable.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"template":"","form_policy_kind":[147],"classes":"post-2297 forms-policies type-forms-policies status-publish hentry stage-conducting-research form_policy_kind-policy","modified_text":"December 5, 2016","file_type":"WEB","excerpt":"","_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/research\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/forms-policies\/2297"}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/research\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/forms-policies"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/research\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/forms-policies"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/research\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=2297"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"form_policy_kind","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/research\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/form_policy_kind?post=2297"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
