The Animal Science Center Support Services group provides assistance with colony management to labs on both the Medical and Charles River campuses. The team has dedicated 17 years to providing top-notch colony care to ASC facilities.
Their fee-for-service colony management services include:
- Weanings
- Mating set-ups
- Pregnancy checks and monitoring
- Plug checks
- Euthanasia
- Rack map and littler list updates with weekly colony data updates via Excel file
- Tissue collection for genotyping
- Transnetyx submissions
- Separations
- Tagging of mice (ear notch or metal tags)
- Packing of cages for lab pick-ups
- Marking cages for transfers
