Limited Submission Opportunity: HRSA Scholarships for Disadvantaged Students (SDS) Program 2025

OBJECTIVES

The Scholarships for Disadvantaged Students (SDS) program increases diversity in the health professions and nursing workforce by providing awards to eligible health professions schools for use in awarding scholarships to students from disadvantaged backgrounds who have financial need, including students who are members of racial and ethnic minority groups.

FUNDING INFORMATION

Up to $650,000 per year for each health professions program for 5 years between July 1, 2025 and June 30, 2030 ($3,250,000 total).

ELIGIBILITY

Up to 3 proposals from BU and up to 3 from BUMC (6 total) will be funded by HRSA. Each degree program may only submit one application. Collaborative proposals are not accepted.

Program Eligibility Criteria: Any PI or team interested in applying should review the detailed eligibility criteria, found on the program FAQ page to confirm eligibility of subdiscipline, accreditation status, and enrollment thresholds for students of disadvantaged backgrounds.

INTERNAL SELECTION PROCESS

Interested PIs for eligible programs should submit the following materials via InfoReady Review by: 1/17/2025

  • 250-word abstract describing the needs you plan to address, the proposed services, and the population groups you plan to serve
  • CV or Biosketch of the PI (and any co-PIs) intending to submit an application
  • Confirmation that you have, to the best of your ability, verified that your program likely meets the eligibility criteria outlined above
