I received my B.A. in Philosophy and Classics from Middlebury College and my M.T.S. from Harvard Divinity School (2021).<\/span><span><br \/>\n<\/span><span><br \/>\n<\/span><span>My dissertation, <\/span><span>When Jews Are Women: Gender, Conversion, and the Politics of Life Writing<\/span><span>, examines the place of the Jewish woman in modern antisemitism and its theories. Through several case studies of Jewish women\u2019s personal writing between the eighteenth and twentieth centuries, I propose a framework for understanding the paradoxes of the Jewish woman\u2019s place in the context of modern secular culture. <\/span><span><br \/>\n<\/span><span><br \/>\n<\/span><span>I teach a wide variety of classes, from Introduction to Religion to Hebrew Bible to Death and Immortality. I also enjoy offering lectures and courses on religion to the broader community. Alongside my scholarly work, my series of photographs <\/span><span>Self Portrait As Beloved<\/span><span> has been shown at the Contemporary Jewish Museum in San Francisco.
