If you are sending someone else to pick up your transcript on your behalf, please provide him\/her with a letter that clearly states your name and BU ID number, his\/her name and what you are allowing him\/her to do (Ex. I John Doe (U12345678) allow Jane Smith to pick up my official transcript.). Please ensure that the letter includes your handwritten signature. We do require your signature due to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/reg\/general-information\/ferpa\/\">FERPA<\/a> privacy regulations.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/reg\/grades\/ordering-a-transcript\/\">Official transcripts<\/a> are available for same-day in person pick-up at the FirstPoint counter on the 2nd floor of 881 Commonwealth Ave. FirstPoint is open Monday-Friday, 9AM-5PM. How can I get the form to your office?<\/h4><div class=\"bu_collapsible_section\" style=\"display: none;\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Official transcripts can now be ordered <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/link\/bin\/uiscgi_studentlink.pl\/1416864438?ModuleName=transcript_et_homepage.pl\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">online<\/a> by current students and alumni of the university. As a part of the ordering process, you will see an option to upload an attachment. Please be sure to upload any necessary attachments (AMCAS, LSAC, cover sheets etc.) in that section to ensure that the attachment is sent with your official transcript to the recipient.<\/p>\n<p>Attachments MUST be included during the online ordering process. Please <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">do not <\/span><\/em>place an order online and then fax or scan and email attachments to the Registrar\u2019s Office.<\/p>\n<p><span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><div class=\"bu_collapsible_container \" aria-live=\"polite\" data-customize-animation=\"false\"><h4 class=\"bu_collapsible\" aria-expanded=\"false\"tabindex=\"0\" role=\"button\">The eTranscript I ordered will not download; the download is coming up blank.  How do I open the transcript?<\/h4><div class=\"bu_collapsible_section\" style=\"display: none;\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p>All eTranscripts must be opened with Adobe Reader. You will first need to make sure that you have the most updated version of Adobe Reader. If you do not yet have this installed on your computer, you can use this <a href=\"http:\/\/get.adobe.com\/reader\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">link<\/a> to install it free of charge.<\/p>\n<p>If you continue to have trouble downloading the transcript after updating Adobe Reader, please use the FAQs on the <a href=\"https:\/\/exchange.parchment.com\/send\/adds\/index.php?main_page=faq&amp;s_id=DOL3DMxz8AjaXUfx&amp;bu=navac4skcvt8uad44u04adbff4\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Parchment Support page<\/a> for specific instructions for your operating system and browser. Please note that Parchment recommends the use of <a href=\"https:\/\/support.parchment.com\/FileManagement\/Download\/f3dab3ee3d1f43ce8bfd928edbeb5582\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Google Chrome or Firefox<\/a> when downloading eTranscripts for PCs. The Parchment Support page also includes instructions for <a href=\"https:\/\/support.parchment.com\/FileManagement\/Download\/14b2a8afd5284674993227ccf2b26a92\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Mac<\/a> users.<\/p>\n<p><span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><div class=\"bu_collapsible_container \" aria-live=\"polite\" data-customize-animation=\"false\"><h4 class=\"bu_collapsible\" aria-expanded=\"false\"tabindex=\"0\" role=\"button\">What is the difference between an eTranscript and an official transcript?<\/h4><div class=\"bu_collapsible_section\" style=\"display: none;\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Official transcripts can now be issued both as an eTranscript (in a certified PDF document) and paper transcript. Both documents are official versions of your transcript and can be ordered <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/reg\/grades\/ordering-a-transcript\/\">online<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Please note, however, that while we do offer both electronic and paper delivery of official transcripts, we do recommend that you confirm with the recipient (university, testing center, application service etc.) what transcript type is accepted. Not all recipients will accept an eTranscript or paper transcript. Please be sure to follow the policies and procedures of the university or third party to which you are submitting your transcript.<\/p>\n<p><strong><\/strong><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/p>\n<p><span><div class=\"bu_collapsible_container \" aria-live=\"polite\" data-customize-animation=\"false\"><h4 class=\"bu_collapsible\" aria-expanded=\"false\"tabindex=\"0\" role=\"button\">How much do transcripts cost?<\/h4><div class=\"bu_collapsible_section\" style=\"display: none;\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Official paper transcripts are $10 each. Official eTranscripts are $8 each. Payment is accepted during the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/link\/bin\/uiscgi_studentlink.pl\/1416857403?ModuleName=transcript_et_homepage.pl\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">online ordering<\/a> process. Expedited shipping is available at an extra charge of $25 for domestic destinations and $40 for international destinations.<\/p>\n<p><strong><\/strong><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/p>\n<p><span><div class=\"bu_collapsible_container \" aria-live=\"polite\" data-customize-animation=\"false\"><h4 class=\"bu_collapsible\" aria-expanded=\"false\"tabindex=\"0\" role=\"button\">How long does it take to get my transcript?<\/h4><div class=\"bu_collapsible_section\" style=\"display: none;\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><\/strong>When placing an order for an official transcript on our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/link\/bin\/uiscgi_studentlink.pl\/1416857403?ModuleName=transcript_et_homepage.pl\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">online ordering system<\/a>, you will have the option to send an eTranscript or paper transcript. eTranscripts are often sent within 24 hours for current students and within 48 hours for alumni. Paper transcripts are mailed in a signed and sealed envelope through standard US Postal Service. Expedited shipping is available at an extra charge of $25 for domestic destinations and $40 for international destinations.<\/p>\n<p><strong><\/strong><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/p>\n<p><span><div class=\"bu_collapsible_container \" aria-live=\"polite\" data-customize-animation=\"false\"><h4 class=\"bu_collapsible\" aria-expanded=\"false\"tabindex=\"0\" role=\"button\">How do I preview my grades online?<\/h4><div class=\"bu_collapsible_section\" style=\"display: none;\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Current students can view grades and a copy of their unofficial transcripts via the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/link\/bin\/uiscgi_studentlink.pl\/1417017401?applpath=menu.pl&amp;NewMenu=Home\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">StudentLink<\/a>. Once on the StudentLink, select the Academics tab, Transcript Preview and Ordering, login using your username and Kerberos password and then you will be able to see the transcript preview.<\/p>\n<p>If you would like to view your grades by semester, select Academics, Grades and then select a semester to view. You will then be able to print your semester grades using the Printer Friendly option link at the end of your grade report.<\/p>\n<p><strong><\/strong><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/p>\n<p><span><div class=\"bu_collapsible_container \" aria-live=\"polite\" data-customize-animation=\"false\"><h4 class=\"bu_collapsible\" aria-expanded=\"false\"tabindex=\"0\" role=\"button\">Can you tell me what my major GPA is?<\/h4><div class=\"bu_collapsible_section\" style=\"display: none;\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p>While our office does have access to your transcript and grades, our system only calculates your overall, cumulative GPA. Your Cumulative GPA can be found at the end of your transcript. If you would like to calculate your GPA for a specific major or degree, we encourage you to use the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/reg\/grades\/explanation-of-grades\/\">GPA calculation instructions<\/a> on our website.<\/p>\n<p>Unfortunately, our office is not able to process requests for major GPAs as we do not evaluate transcripts and do not know which specific courses counted towards your major or degree requirements. If you require further information regarding specific course requirements or which courses went towards your major, please contact the advising or student services office at your specific <a title=\"School\/College Contact Information\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/reg\/registration\/contact-info\/\">school or college<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong><\/strong><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/p>\n<p><span><div class=\"bu_collapsible_container \" aria-live=\"polite\" data-customize-animation=\"false\"><h4 class=\"bu_collapsible\" aria-expanded=\"false\"tabindex=\"0\" role=\"button\">How can I get a copy of course descriptions?<\/h4><div class=\"bu_collapsible_section\" style=\"display: none;\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p>All course descriptions as of the 2010\/2011 academic year can be\u00a0found <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/reg\/registration\/course-descriptions\/\">online<\/a>. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/reg\/registration\/course-descriptions\/\">Requests for course descriptions<\/a>\u00a0prior to 2010, must be submitted directly to our office. There is no charge for course descriptions.<\/p>\n<p><strong><\/strong><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/p>\n<p><span><div class=\"bu_collapsible_container \" aria-live=\"polite\" data-customize-animation=\"false\"><h4 class=\"bu_collapsible\" aria-expanded=\"false\"tabindex=\"0\" role=\"button\">How do I obtain a copy of a course syllabus from years ago?<\/h4><div class=\"bu_collapsible_section\" style=\"display: none;\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p>While our office is able to provide you with course descriptions, we do not maintain records of course syllabi (documents that include an overall description of the course, course objectives\/goals, assignments, lab components and weekly schedule of material). If you are in need of the syllabus for a specific course, please contact the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/reg\/registration\/contact-info\/\">school or college<\/a> that offered the course or the instructor directly. You can find instructor contact information using the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bu.edu\/directory\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">BU Directory<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>If you find that a course description will be sufficient, please visit our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/reg\/registration\/course-descriptions\/\">website<\/a> for further instructions on how to request them.<\/p>\n<p><strong><\/strong><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/p>\n<p><span><div class=\"bu_collapsible_container \" aria-live=\"polite\" data-customize-animation=\"false\"><h4 class=\"bu_collapsible\" aria-expanded=\"false\"tabindex=\"0\" role=\"button\">I earned dean's list for my semester studying abroad, but it's not showing up on my transcript.  How do I have that added?<\/h4><div class=\"bu_collapsible_section\" style=\"display: none;\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Each school and college is responsible for maintaining Dean\u2019s List for their students. If you met the requirements for Dean\u2019s List for your school or college while studying abroad, please contact the <a title=\"School\/College Contact Information\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/reg\/registration\/contact-info\/\">Student Services or Advising office at your school or college<\/a> directly and an administrator there will be able to verify that you have met the requirements. That administrator will then work with our office to ensure that your student record and transcript appropriately lists Dean\u2019s List for that given semester. The Office of the University Registrar is not able to add a student to Dean\u2019s List without approval directly from an administrator at the school or college.<\/p>\n<p><strong><\/strong><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/p>\n<p><span><div class=\"bu_collapsible_container \" aria-live=\"polite\" data-customize-animation=\"false\"><h4 class=\"bu_collapsible\" aria-expanded=\"false\"tabindex=\"0\" role=\"button\">What is Parchment?<\/h4><div class=\"bu_collapsible_section\" style=\"display: none;\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Parchment is an online ordering service that the Office of the University Registrar has contracted with to process our online transcript ordering. Current students will automatically be directed to the Parchment system after logging in to the StudentLink to begin the transcript ordering process. Alumni and students without StudentLink access will be directed to the Parchment online ordering homepage to create an account directly on the Parchment system to place a transcript order.<\/p>\n<p><strong><\/strong><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/p>\n<p><span><div class=\"bu_collapsible_container \" aria-live=\"polite\" data-customize-animation=\"false\"><h4 class=\"bu_collapsible\" aria-expanded=\"false\"tabindex=\"0\" role=\"button\">How do I reset my password for my account with Parchment?<\/h4><div class=\"bu_collapsible_section\" style=\"display: none;\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p>All current students should be accessing the transcript ordering service directly through <a href=\"https:\/\/mybustudent.bu.edu\/\">MyBU Student<\/a>\u00a0using your BU login name and Kerberos password. If you need assistance with your Kerberos password, please contact BU IT Help at <a href=\"mailto:ithelp@bu.edu\">ithelp@bu.edu<\/a> or 617-353-4357.<\/p>\n<p>Students and alumni that have created accounts directly on the Parchment site should use the \u2018Forgot your password?\u2019 link on the <a href=\"https:\/\/exchange.parchment.com\/send\/adds\/index.php?main_page=login&amp;s_id=DOL3DMxz8AjaXUfx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Parchment login page<\/a>. After selecting that link you will then be able to enter the email address you used to create the account and generate an email message containing a new password.<\/p>\n<p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/p>\n<h3>Transfer Credit<\/h3>\n<p><span><div class=\"bu_collapsible_container \" aria-live=\"polite\" data-customize-animation=\"false\"><h4 class=\"bu_collapsible\" aria-expanded=\"false\"tabindex=\"0\" role=\"button\">What is the process for getting dual enrollment credits processed?<\/h4><div class=\"bu_collapsible_section\" style=\"display: none;\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p>In order for these courses to be properly evaluated, we will need:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>An official college transcript<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong><u><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bu.edu\/admissions\/files\/2018\/07\/syllabi-example.pdf\">Complete syllabi<\/a><\/u><\/strong><strong> for each course taken<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>A signed <u><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bu.edu\/admissions\/files\/2018\/05\/Dual-enrollment-verification-form.pdf\">Dual Enrollment Form <\/a><\/u><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>PLEASE NOTE:\u00a0 If the college courses counted towards your high school degree, they <strong>cannot<\/strong> count for college credit at Boston University<\/p>\n<p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/p>\n<p><span><div class=\"bu_collapsible_container \" aria-live=\"polite\" data-customize-animation=\"false\"><h4 class=\"bu_collapsible\" aria-expanded=\"false\"tabindex=\"0\" role=\"button\">Can my courses be evaluated before I apply?<\/h4><div class=\"bu_collapsible_section\" style=\"display: none;\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Unfortunately no. A transfer credit evaluation is done after a student is offered admission to the University, so we will not be able to evaluate or guarantee any of your courses for transfer ahead of time. BU generally awards credit for liberal arts courses completed with a grade of C or better at a regionally accredited institution. The best way to plan out your courses for transfer or predict what courses will transfer to BU is to compare the course descriptions from your current program to those offered by BU. Boston University degree requirements and course descriptions can be found on our <u><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bu.edu\/academics\">Academics Website<\/a><\/u>. I also encourage you to utilize our <a href=\"https:\/\/tes.collegesource.com\/publicview\/TES_publicview01.aspx?rid=f3c0908c-8809-4592-a06a-2ec9c2c3acc8&amp;aid=adbaa968-6ce9-47a6-9b99-43d30cdd2d67\"><u>Course Equivalency Library<\/u><\/a> for information on what courses from varying institutions have already been approved or not by BU. Professional courses may transfer at the discretion of the admitting school or college. Please be aware you will not receive transfer credit for physical education, health or ROTC courses, or activities such as internships, independent study, orientation, choir, band or student service. Please note that BU can accept up to 60 credits from a two-year institution and up to 80 credits from a four-year institution.<\/p>\n<p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/p>\n<p><span><div class=\"bu_collapsible_container \" aria-live=\"polite\" data-customize-animation=\"false\"><h4 class=\"bu_collapsible\" aria-expanded=\"false\"tabindex=\"0\" role=\"button\">When will I know when my class standing has been updated? Does your department determine that?<\/h4><div class=\"bu_collapsible_section\" style=\"display: none;\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The credit evaluation department does not determine your class standing.
