She serves as the Faculty Director of Boston University Experiential Education within the Office of the Provost, Undergraduate Affairs. In this role she oversees several university-wide experiential education programs such as the Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program and the Learning Assistants program, as well as living-learning communities such as Global House and Earth House..She collaborates with faculty and programs across the campus to support and enhance experiential learning initiatives. Dr. Deacon Carr is also the Faculty Director of Questrom Team Learning Services, where she works with both faculty and students on a variety of team-related issues and led the development of the Questrom Team Learning website. She co-wrote The Team Learning Assistant with her colleagues, a web application designed to improve learning for faculty and students who use teams. In 2021 Dr. Deacon Carr became the Faculty Athletics Representative of Boston University and the NCAA.<\/p>\n<p>In both 2024 and 2019 she was awarded the James Freeman Leadership Development Award. In addition, she received the Broderick Award for Outstanding Faculty Contribution to the Undergraduate Program and Community in 2017, the inaugural Broderick Prize for Outstanding Contribution to Student Learning and Experience in 2014, and was named an Outstanding Reviewer for the Journal of Management Education for 2020. Dr. Deacon Carr specializes in curriculum design and innovation, and has extensive coaching, counseling, and team mediation experience. She earned her Ph.D. at Northeastern University and is a licensed psychologist in the state of Massachusetts.
