Islam Hamam is a sales engineer with more than 10 years\u2019 experience driving revenue growth in the industrial and water treatment sectors. Having transitioned from project management to sales, Islam needed to learn more about strategic global business leadership. He wanted a well-regarded university with a strong academic reputation, but with a career that involves extensive business travel, balanced by family priorities, flexibility was also essential.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cBoston University\u2019s Questrom School of Business clearly stood out,\u201d Islam says. \u201cThe online format was highly appealing. The ability to learn on my own schedule\u2014whether on a plane, late at night, or across time zones\u2014made this program uniquely suitable for my lifestyle.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Initially, Islam was anxious about returning to academics, since he earned his engineering master\u2019s degree seven prior. However, those concerns disappeared quickly once the program began.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe course design, interactive learning, and overall structure made the experience engaging and enjoyable rather than burdensome,\u201d he says. \u201cWith good organization and time management, I found it easy to stay on track and genuinely looked forward to each new module and assignment.\u201d

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Through the program, Islam has already strengthened his skills in business analytics, innovation, and global management, and deepened his understanding of macro-level business concepts. He\u2019 also enhanced his ability to see his organization from a broader, strategic perspective.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cEach module of the program has directly contributed to my professional and personal development. Mod 0 enhanced my teamwork abilities and collaboration skills. Mod 1 introduced foundational concepts in microeconomics and provided insights into emerging digital business models. Mod 2 focused on core business competencies, emphasizing data analytics, accounting, finance, and operations. Mod 3 allowed me to define my personal values and leadership purpose while deepening my understanding of ethics and the societal impact of organizations.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Because of his OMBA experience, Islam now has the confidence and knowledge to engage in more strategic conversations and contribute meaningfully to organizational decision-making.
He is such a fan of the program that he\u2019s already recommended it to a close friend who will be starting their first module next semester.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
