Doug Buckminster is Vice Chairman of American Express. He plays a central role in driving the overall strategic direction of the company and accelerating growth opportunities globally. He also leads several areas of the organization including Global Advertising and Brand Management, China Operations, and Enterprise Innovation Partners which is responsible for digital incubation, strategic partnerships, and corporate development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Doug previously served as Group President of Global Consumer Services responsible for global consumer products and services, consumer banking, digital strategy and capabilities, and risk and information management; President, Global Network & International Card Services responsible for growing the consumer and bank partnership businesses in more than 150 countries; and President, International Consumer and Small Business Services. Doug has also served as regional president for American Express International’s Latin America, Canada, and Caribbean (LACC) region, and general manager of the International Lending and Insurance Services organizations. Doug joined American Express in 1985 as part of the Graduate Management Summer Intern Program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Doug serves on the Board of Trustees for the Harlem Children\u2019s Zone, and is a member of the Dean\u2019s Advisory Board at Boston University Questrom School of Business.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Boston University, and an MBA from New York University.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
