All aspects of an applicant\u2019s application will be considered including work experience, undergraduate and graduate coursework and grades, short answer responses, resume, any submitted letters of recommendation (optional) or GMAT\/GRE scores (optional). Typically, admitted candidates will have several years of post-undergraduate professional experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading has-h-7-font-size\"><strong>How do I begin an application?<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-p-2-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">We ask all interested applicants to the master&#8217;s in AI for Business to fill out our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/questrom\/admissions-gateway\/\">online application<\/a> and follow our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/questrom\/graduate-programs\/specialty-masters-programs\/online-ms-in-ai-in-business\/admissions\">admission procedures<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading has-h-7-font-size\"><strong>When is the deadline to apply? <\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-p-2-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">We have several deadlines throughout the year. You can view the upcoming deadlines here: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/questrom\/graduate-programs\/specialty-masters-programs\/online-ms-in-ai-in-business\/admissions\/#deadlines\">Online MS in AI in Business Application Deadlines.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading has-h-7-font-size\"><strong>Can I apply to the Online MBA and another Questrom program?<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-p-2-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">You can only apply to one Questrom program per entry term. For example, you may not apply to both the Online MBA and the MS in AI in Business for the same entry term.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading has-h-7-font-size\"><strong>What restrictions and licensing requirements are there?<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-p-2-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">To comply with OFAC restrictions and licensing requirements, Boston University does not offer online programs to individuals physically located in certain areas of the world. A full list of areas and more information can be found <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/state-authorization\/#topinternationaldistanceeducation\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading has-h-7-font-size\"><strong>Do I need to submit a letter of recommendation?<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-p-2-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">It is your choice to decide if you\u2019d like to submit a letter of recommendation for our consideration with your master\u2019s in AI and business application. Who to ask to write your letters of recommendation is up to you, but we suggest recommendations come from an employer or someone you have worked with in a professional setting. Letters should come from the recommender directly to us at <a href=\"mailto:BusinessAIAppDocs@bu.edu\">BusinessAIAppDocs@bu.edu<\/a> by the posted deadline.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading has-h-7-font-size\"><strong>Are official documents, such as transcripts, required?<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-p-2-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">To expedite the admissions process, we ask that you upload unofficial documents at the time of your application submission. Admitted candidates who plan to matriculate are required to submit official transcripts for all coursework. Documents should be submitted by the start of the first module. Having at least some exposure to quantitative subjects will help provide a foundational understanding of how AI can be applied to real organizational challenges. This allows students to enter the program ready to connect AI concepts to business needs, decision-making, and practical use cases.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading has-h-7-font-size\"><strong>Do I need familiarity with data sets and using excel?&nbsp;<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-p-2-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">Some familiarity with datasets and Excel can be helpful, but it is not the same as needing advanced expertise. Because data plays a central role in how AI systems perform, this degree benefits from a basic understanding of what datasets are, how they are created, and the limitations they may have.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-p-2-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">Excel, while not an AI tool itself, can also be a useful foundation because it introduces ways of organizing, analyzing, and interpreting data. Familiarity with Excel or another spreadsheet tool can help students feel more comfortable with the kinds of analytical thinking that support AI-related study.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading has-h-7-font-size\"><strong>Even though GMAT\/GRE scores are not required, should I submit them anyway?<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-p-2-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">Business AI is a rigorous program that requires quantitative aptitude. The Admissions Committee will look for evidence of this in your application via previous coursework. If you feel that you do not have sufficient evidence in your previous coursework to demonstrate this aptitude, you may want to consider submitting a GMAT or GRE score to enhance your application or taking part in a third-party preparation course like MBA Math or GMAC Fundamentals. Candidates must present evidence of language of instruction with their application for admission to the artificial intelligence in business program. Appropriate documentation includes a transcript cover sheet, an official statement from the university, or a link to the institution\u2019s website that specifies that the mode of instruction is English.
