Tarang Jatkar
Health Sector MBA Mumbai, IndiaTarang Jatkar has had a range of interesting experiences. He’s worked as software engineer in a startup doing data analytics for hospitals. Then he went back to India to teach for two years with Teach for India. And from there, he came to Boston and BU.
Like many students at Questrom, Jatkar says that one of his most memorable experiences was also one of the most vigorous. “My favorite project was the StratSim,” he says. “It was an intense three days of being holed up in a tiny room with five people and making decisions for the auto industry while competing with my peers. It was an intense but fun learning experience.”
As Jatkar pursues his Health Sector MBA, he’s taken some great electives, including “Drugs, Diagnostics, and Devices,” which he says is a great class for learning about pharma. He’s also found valuable experience outside the classroom an intern for CVS Caremark, the largest pharmacy chain in the US, where he helped formulate technology strategy and created executive dashboards. The CVS experience really gave him insight into what it means to be successful in business. “I learned that having a negotiating mindset is crucial to surviving in a Fortune 15 company.”
Back at BU, he enjoys being with his classmates. “My peers at Questrom have become really good friends. The cohort system at BU provides opportunities to do fun things out of the classroom like pumpkin carving, soccer matches, and broomball.”
