Micah is a PhD candidate in the Management & Organizations department. Micah’s research broadly spans the future of work: how social and technological disruptions give rise to ambiguity about what work is, what it will become, and its significance in our lives Current projects include an in-depth look at the lives and careers of professional competitive video gamers, mapping the professional identity shift of doctors during the AIDS epidemic, and a discussion of digital ethnographic practices.

Before joining academia, Micah worked at several tech startups in San Francisco as a designer/engineer/product-person served as a consultant in healthcare organizations, and continues to volunteer as an advisor and advocate for LGBTQ health.
