July 15, 2025

Emily Tan (Questrom’28), a nationally ranked table tennis player, picked up a paddle at age 6 and started training with a professional coach at age 7. As a USA National team member on the women’s U15 and U19 teams, she was the youngest woman in Major League Table Tennis for the Chicago Wind, the first professional table tennis league in the US.
She’s a silver medal winner of the U15 singles event at the Panam Youth Championship of 2021, a gold medal winner of the U19 team tournament in 2023, and has played in over 20 international tournaments. Emily is looking forward to competing with and watching the “big” teams like China, Japan, and South Korea in the World Championships in Germany.
As an incredibly engaged accounting and finance sophomore at Questrom, treasurer of the BU Table Tennis Club, and private coach at Ping Pod, the BU Questrom community roots for Emily as she represents in the World Championships.
