”Career-focused learning and ample opportunities to establish industry connections.” These are the benefits that drew Adil to the Questrom MS in Business Analytics program. And the location of the school didn’t hurt, either. As someone who grew up in Eastern Europe and East Africa, and previously worked at Microsoft in Redmond, Washington, Adil was looking to expand his career connections in a vibrant, global city.
“Greater Boston has always been a hub for new technology and cutting-edge research,” Adil says. “I was drawn to the highly-educated, fast-paced nature of the city.”
At Questrom, he wasn’t disappointed.
“Fast-paced, rigorous, and resourceful." That’s how Adil describes his MSBA program. “Questrom does a thorough job of setting up seminars and information sessions catered towards students’ interests,” he says. “I benefitted from the way most courses were structured to emphasize learning by doing industry-focused projects. And I was surprised by the amazing friends I made in the program, they were an integral part of my success.”
That success for Adil includes landing a job at Tesla. As part of the Finance Analytics and Automation team, he sits at the intersection of financial analysis and data science to provide actionable insights.
“We also focus on automating different finance-based workflows to optimize financial decision-making within the organization,” Adil says. “My role gives me the autonomy to work with individuals from different organizations and backgrounds to try to solve a problem from different angles, which I believe will be crucial to my growth in the field of data science and analytics.”
As data continues to shape the way organizations make vital business decisions, Adil hopes to work his way into a leadership role, where he can shape the way data analytics impacts key components of an industry.
“My Questrom connections have been really helpful in keeping me up to date with the new advances in the field,” he says. “The MSBA’s ability to attract talent from all over the world and establish a free-flowing platform to share ideas between alumni and current students will surely help me in advancing my career goals.”
