Questrom Professor Pnina Feldman receives Provost’s Scholar-Teacher Award
BU Today recently published an article highlighting the recipient of the Provost’s Scholar-Teacher of the Year Award, Pnina Feldman, Associate Professor of Operations & Technology Management.
The award, which recognizes “outstanding scholars who excel as teachers both inside and outside the classroom,” was given to Pnina for her efforts in making her classes “passionate,” “imaginative,” and “fun,” according to her students. Pnina keeps her students engaged by incorporating real-time case studies and hot-off-the-presses news items in her curriculum. It is her mission to develop curricula that do not merely recycle knowledge but create new knowledge via engaging, relevant, and enjoyable lessons for students. Her teaching method has created opportunities for undergraduate students to conduct research and see their scholarship in action. She elaborates on this by stating,
“The honors students,” she adds, “get a chance to engage and learn about the research done at Questrom and participate in the creation of new knowledge with faculty and BU/Questrom research institutes.”
Pnina is also the mind behind Alumni Days, where Questrom graduates return to network with and mentor honors students, bringing on job and internship opportunities as well.
