Questrom’s Evan Apfelbaum Named 2020 Fellow of the Society for Personality and Social Psychology

Evan Apfelbaum, Associate Professor of Management & Organizations and Research Director of BU’s Human Resources Policy Institute, has been named a 2020 Fellow of the Society for Personality and Social Psychology for his extraordinary contribution to the field of Personality and Social Psychology.

The Society for Personality and Social Psychology (SPSP) is the world’s largest organization of social and personality psychologists. SPSP fellows are members with longstanding contributions to SPSP and have made an extraordinary and distinctive contribution to the science of Personality and Social Psychology.

Evan utilizes social psychology, organizational behavior, behavioral economics, and child development to unearth the challenges and potential of diversity. His work aims to develop theoretically innovative science that impacts how we live, learn, and work in an increasingly diverse society.

His research has been featured in leading academic journals including the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology, Psychological Science, Management Science, and Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences. He has been recognized by the Gordon Allport Intergroup Relations Prize and is the recipient of the James H. Ferry Jr. Grant for Innovation in Research, an Early Researcher Award from the American Psychological Association, among other research and teaching awards. He was named one of the Top 40 Business Professors Under 40 by Poets & Quants.
