Professor Hagiu’s research and teaching are entirely focused on multi-sided platform businesses (e.g. Airbnb, Alibaba, Amazon, eBay, Google, Grab, Facebook, PlayStation, Uber, etc.) and their unique strategic challenges. His work has been published in the Rand Journal of Economics, Management Science, Harvard Business Review, Sloan Management Review, Journal of Economic Perspectives, etc. Andrei serves as a Co-Editor for the Journal of Economics & Management Strategy.
He leverages the insights from his research to advise and angel invest in startups attempting to build multi-sided platforms, and to consult with large companies seeking to turn products into multi-sided platforms.
