Boston University’s Executive MBA (EMBA) is one of the top 20 programs in the world, according to a new ranking from Ivy Exec, an online platform that provides professional resources to executives looking to advance their careers. Ivy Exec ranked BU EMBA 17th among the “Best Executive MBA Programs of 2016.”
Of the five categories on which Ivy Exec based their ranking—reputation, career advancement, curriculum, life balance, and “globalness”—BU EMBA stood out in the life balance category, placing 5th among the 50 ranked programs. The program landed in the top 20 for the remaining categories as well, with curriculum coming in at 15th.
An 18-month program, BU EMBA offers mid- to senior-level executives a rigorous curriculum designed to balance momentum and absorption. It is optimized for leaders seeking a program that provides cutting-edge management techniques they can apply immediately in their work, and that blends effectively into their active schedules.
This ranking continues a trend of positive external recognition of BU EMBA, which is renowned for its integrated structure and tight-knit community. Alumni consistently report exceptional ROI, extending far beyond the 18-month curriculum. One of the longest-standing in the region, the program features the pioneering faculty and groundbreaking insights found only at leading research institutions like BU.
To calculate the ranking, Ivy Exec conducted a comprehensive, two-part survey with its community. First, the community was asked to identify the key criteria they would use to differentiate among Executive MBA offerings, resulting in the five aforementioned categories. They were then asked to use those categories to evaluate approximately 80 different Executive MBA programs, pulled from Ivy Exec research on more than 300 Executive MBA programs worldwide.
