In coming years, companies will become increasingly transparent, says Associate Professor of Information Systems Stephanie Watts (\u201990, \u201998), and that means customers, suppliers, and employees will have far more information available to help them decide with which companies they want to associate.<\/p>\n<p>Some of this new corporate disclosure will be voluntary, as more and more companies issue reports on their sustainability and social responsibility. Many of the revelations, however, will be involuntary, with employees going online to share information about internal company practices.<\/p>\n<p>The website Glassdoor.com, for example, already allows prospective employees to read anonymous reviews from current staffers, and such sites will become more common in the near future, says Watts.
