Young Adult Coaching
Program Overview
Coaching is an individualized, one-on-one support for young adults seeking to gain, maintain or change a valued role such as student, worker or community member.
Why Coaching?
The Coaching Model is an evidence-based, solution-focused, hands-on, and collaborative approach to working one-on-one with young adults to help them thrive in all areas of their wellbeing. Known as the Kohn Coaching Model, it uses a person-centered framework that promotes individual-driven leadership over their goals as it relates to academics, work, social connections, and their physical, emotional, and environmental wellness.
Coaching is built on trust and collaboration. Formed through the Coaches ability to demonstrate an open, curious and adaptable mindset that respects the Coachees’ held identities. Coaches partner with Coachees to identify actionable goals, integrate new skills & supports, and build autonomy. Thus ensuring growth achieved during Coaching is meaningful, and sustainable.
Effective Coaching involves listening with intent to support and identify verbal & non-verbal language and emotions. This type of active engagement with the Coachee and the Coaching environment allows for meaningful responses that drive Coaching forward.
Coaching Structure
Meet with a Coach on a semester basis.
Coaching meetings run approximately one hour weekly, and communication is regular and highly encouraged between meetings.
Coaching is highly mobile and flexible and can be provided remotely for young adults who do not live in the Boston area.
Comprehensive and student-centered: support for academic, wellness, social, and work-related goals.

I really appreciated the help I received throughout the spring '23 semester from coaching. It was of great help and support and I’m really gratefully for the skills I’ve been able to develop through coaching.
