Serious Mental Illness (SMI) in Nursing Facilities

Using a 5-Step Approach to Care

A large number of nursing home residents experience mental health challenges, and this training from the Center for Excellence for Behavioral Health in Nursing Facilities gives an introduction to psychiatric disabilities. Providing an overview of a five-step model of care, this training offers staff in nursing facilities with an outline on how to support residents with serious mental health conditions.
