David Eckel"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Dr. Eckel is a professor of religion who received both his bachelor&#8217;s and master&#8217;s degrees at Oxford University before attending Harvard for his Ph. D. Eckel&#8217;s publications include \u201cBhaviveka and His Buddhist Opponents\u201d; \u201cTo See the Buddha: A Philosopher\u2019s Quest for the Meaning of Emptiness\u201d; \u201cBuddhism\u201d; \u201cJnanagarbha\u2019s Commentary on the Distinction Between the Two Truths\u201d; editor of \u201cIndia and The West: The Problem of Understanding\u201d and \u201cDeliver Us from Evil.\u201d Dr. Eckel serves as director of the Core Curriculum and was honored as a Distinguished Teaching Professor of the Humanities from 2002-2005.
