Keith Vincent is the Chair of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bu.edu\/mlcl\/\">Dept. of Modern Languages &amp; Comparative Literature at Boston University<\/a>.\u00a0<span>J. Keith Vincent\u2019s research\u00a0focuses on modern Japanese literature, queer theory,\u00a0translation, and the novel. He is the author of <\/span><i><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hup.harvard.edu\/catalog.php?isbn=9780674067127\">Two-Timing Modernity: Homosocial Narrative in Modern Japanese Fiction<\/a>\u00a0<\/i><span>(Harvard Asia Center, 2012).\u00a0Recent edited volumes include <\/span><i>S\u014dseki Great and Small <\/i><span>(<\/span><i>Tai-sh\u014d no S\u014dseki<\/i><span>), a \u201cmini\u201d special issue of the Japanese journal <\/span><i>Bungaku <\/i><span>(Nov-Dec, 2014)<\/span><i>, <\/i><span>co-edited with Alan Tansman, and <\/span><i>Honoring Eve, <\/i><span>a Spring 2010 issue of <\/span><i>Criticism <\/i><span>co-edited with Erin Murphy, on the work of queer theorist Eve Kosofsky Sedgwick. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>His translation of Okamoto Kanoko\u2019s <\/span><em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hesperuspress.com\/a-riot-of-goldfish-pb.html\">A Riot of Goldfish<\/a>\u00a0<\/em><span>(Hesperus Press,\u00a0 2010) won the 2011 U.S. Japan Friendship Commission Prize for the\u00a0 Translation of Japanese Literature, and his translation of Tanizaki Jun\u2019ichir\u014d\u2019s novella <\/span><i>Devils in Daylight <\/i><span>is forthcoming from New Directions.
