Holt"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span class=\"s3\">Melissa Holt (she\/her) earned her BS in Psychology from Tufts University and her MS and PhD in Counseling Psychology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She completed a clinical psychology internship at the University of Illinois at Chicago Department of Psychiatry and is a licensed Psychologist.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"s7\"><span class=\"s3\">Melissa\u2019s scholarship focuses on bias-based harassment among adolescents, school-based prevention programs, and the experiences of gender diverse youth. Her research emphasizes ways in which contexts and systems can better support youth well-being and amplify their strengths. \u00a0Melissa\u2019s research has been funded by the National Institutes of Justice<\/span><span class=\"s3\">.<span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s3\">Melissa has published research findings<span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s3\">a wide range of<span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s3\">academic<span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s3\">journals<\/span><span class=\"s3\">, and also<span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s3\">has co-edited one book<\/span><span class=\"s3\"><span>\u00a0<\/span>(<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.routledge.com\/Critical-Issues-in-School-based-Mental-Health-Evidence-based-Research\/Holt-Grills\/p\/book\/9781138025011\"><span class=\"s5\">Critical Issues in School Mental Health: Evidence-based Research, Practice, and Interventions<\/span><\/a><span class=\"s3\">)<span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s3\">and co-authored another book (<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hogrefe.com\/us\/shop\/bullying-and-peer-victimization-67542.html\"><span class=\"s5\">Bullying and<\/span><span class=\"s4\"><span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s5\">Peer Victimization<\/span><\/a><span class=\"s6\">).<span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s3\"><\/span><span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"s3\">With respect to teaching,<span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s3\">Melissa has taught courses ranging from an undergraduate first-year experience course to doctoral-level seminars, and is committed to mentoring students at all levels of their academic careers.
