He attends in the Medical Intensive Care Unit and on the Pulmonary Consultation Service at\u00a0Boston\u00a0Medical\u00a0Center.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Kotton\u2019s research focuses on stem cell biology and gene therapy related to lung injury and repair. He is an NIH-funded Principal Investigator and a member of several research groups, including the\u00a0Stem Cell Biology and Gene Therapy Group, and the Pulmonary\u00a0Developmental Biology Group. Dr. Kotton\u2019s laboratory currently utilizes several stem cell populations, including bone marrow-derived stem cells and embryonic stem cells in order to develop novel stem cell-based therapies for lung disease. In addition, Dr. Kotton specializes in the genetic manipulation of stem cells as well as resident lung cells using lentiviral vectors.
