Her first book,\u00a0<em>Men and the Making of Modern British Feminism<\/em>\u00a0(Stanford University Press, 2010), called fresh attention to the forgotten but foundational contributions of men to the creation of the \u201crights of women\u201d in late-eighteenth-century Britain. The book won the 2011 John Ben Snow Prize from the North American Conference on British Studies. Articles based on this project have appeared in the\u00a0<em>Journal of British Studies, Enlightenment and Dissent<\/em>, and the edited collection\u00a0<em>Women, Gender and Enlightenment<\/em>\u00a0(Palgrave, 2005).<\/p>\n<p>Professor Chernock is currently writing a book, provisionally titled\u00a0<em>The Right to Reign and the Rights of Women in Victorian Britain,<\/em>\u00a0which explores the politics of queenship over the long nineteenth century. Material from this project has been published in\u00a0<em>Victorian Studies\u00a0<\/em>and in the edited collection\u00a0<em>Engendering Women\u2019s History: A Global Project\u00a0<\/em>(NYU Press, 2013). In her capacity as a historian of monarchy, Chernock has published numerous opinion pieces and editorials, and provides frequent commentary to a range of print, radio, and television outlets.<\/p>\n<p>Chernock co-organizes the British Study Group at the Center for European Studies at Harvard University.
