Oppliger\u2019s research focuses on the influence of the media and popular culture on adolescents\u2019 development, using a variety of qualitative and quantitative research methods. She is the author of six books: \u201cWrestling and Hypermasculinity\u201d (2004), \u201cGirls Gone Skank: The Sexualization of Girls in American Culture\u201d (2008), \u201cBullies and Mean Girls in Popular Culture\u201d (2013), \u201cTweencom Girls: Gender and Adolescence in Disney and Nickelodeon Sitcoms\u201d (2019), \u201cThe Dark Side of Stand-Up Comedy\u201d (2020), and \u201cTransmasculinity on Television\u201d (2022).
