Hardin Coleman

Professor, Dean Emeritus, Wheelock College of Education & Human Development

Dr. Hardin Coleman is a professor of counseling psychology and applied human development and dean emeritus at BU Wheelock College of Education & Human Development. He is also the director of the Center for Character and Social Responsibility. His scholarship focuses on minority student achievement, strategies for coping with cultural diversity, multicultural counseling, school counselor competence, and evidence-driven approaches to educational system improvement.

Prior to joining BU, Dr. Coleman spent 17 years at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He serves on the Boston School Committee, the External Advisory Council on School Assignment, and as an advisory board member for EdVestors and Inversant. He holds a PhD in counseling psychology from Stanford University and is an APA Fellow in the Society of Counseling Psychology and Society for the Psychological Study of Culture, Ethnicity and Race.
