About the Boston University Undergraduate Academic Advising Awards:

The Academic Advising Awards annually recognize advisors who have engaged students in the collaborative process of advising and have had a significant impact on students’ academic careers.

Winners receive an award of $1500 and are publicly recognized at the annual Academic Advising Symposium in March. The 11th Annual Academic Advising Symposium will be on Friday, March 1st, 2024.

Nominations:

Boston University students, staff, faculty, and alumni are invited to nominate one eligible candidate per category per year. Letters of nomination (no more than one single-spaced page) should address the nominee’s abilities and attributes relative to their effectiveness as an academic advisor.

An “academic advisor” is a faculty or staff member who formally serves as a student’s designated advisor. Students, of course, seek advice from many members of the university community who are not their official academic advisor, but these awards have been established to celebrate students’ formally designated academic advisors.

Letters of nomination for the awards are due Monday, October 30 at 12pm and should be emailed to Amie Grills, Associate Provost for Undergraduate Affairs, at apundergrad@bu.edu.

If you have any questions about the Academic Advising Awards, please email the Associate Provost for Undergraduate Affairs at apunderg@bu.edu.
