Cinematheque: An Evening with Mariette Monpierre

In collaboration with the French Student Graduate Association, the BU Cinematheque brings the distinguished Carribean writer-filmmaker Monpierre, a native of Guadeloupe, with her acclaimed feature, The Happiness of Elza. In this perhaps autobiographical work, a Parisian student returns to Guadeloupe, a dazzling feast of untamed beaches, to spy on the wealthy father whom she barely knows. A great man? Or a monster?
