  • Starts: 5:00 pm on Tuesday, March 19, 2013
  • Ends: 8:00 pm on Tuesday, March 19, 2013
THIS EVENT HAS BEEN POSTPONED DUE TO WEATHER. Part information session and part experimental sewing workshop, Making & Wearing is free and open to the public and encourages attendees of all sewing skill levels (including those with absolutely no sewing experience!) Participants will learn about ‘fast fashion’ and the current state of affairs in garment manufacturing: Waste, pollution, consumerism, labor issues, etc. The workshop will also cover a variety of clothing construction techniques, from the most simple cutting and tying to more involved deconstruction and upcycling methods. Everyone will have a chance to recycle second-hand clothing into unique wearables during the workshop. Donated clothing will be available for re-use along with sewing supplies. Participants are also encouraged to bring their own used clothing to sew and share.
