From Dr. Gloria Waters, University Provost and Chief Academic Officer
The Boston University Council held three meetings during the fall 2025 semester on September 16, November 18, and December 9. At these meetings, the council voted to approve the following degree and certificate programs:
- Master of Science in AI for Enterprise IT (CDS)*
- Master of Science in Branded Content Production (COM)
- Master of Science in Human-Centered Design (COM)
- Online Master of Science in Strategic Integrated Communication (COM)*
- Master of Science in AI for Software Engineering (ENG)*
- Master of Science in Applied Economics and Data Science (GRS)
- Master of Science in Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence (GRS)*
- Master of Science in Quantum Science and Engineering (GRS)
- Graduate Certificate in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (MET)*
- Master of Science, Artificial Intelligence in Business (Questrom)*
- Online Master of Divinity (STH)*
- Graduate Certificate in AI and Education (Wheelock)*
- Master of Education in AI and Education (Wheelock)*
The council also voted to revise the Faculty Handbook’s section on the “Definition of the Faculty.” The change reflects the elimination of the Medical Campus provost position in summer 2025 and the transition to a single University provost overseeing all schools and colleges.
President Gilliam has concurred with these actions, which officially brings them into effect.
We are grateful to the members of the University Council for their thoughtful and diligent work throughout the past semester.
*These programs will be online or offer an online component.
