Important Information about Sexual Misconduct Prevention Training Requirements at BU

From Dr. Gloria Waters, University Provost and Chief Academic Officer
and Derek Howe, Senior Vice President for Operations

As noted in our communication of October 17, Boston University is requiring all faculty and staff to complete updated sexual misconduct, harassment, and  discrimination prevention training. This training is one of many important efforts BU is undertaking to heighten awareness of what constitutes acceptable and unacceptable behavior in our community and to maintain a respectful environment free from harassment and discrimination. It is also required by law. This year’s training has been updated to include information about BU’s Interim Equal Opportunity and Title IX Policy.

In the coming days, you will receive an email with detailed instructions for completing the training through the Terrier eDevelopment Learning Management System. These training courses are mandatory and must be completed by December 6, 2024. Please note that non-compliance with this training can result in your 2025 merit increase being withheld from your paycheck until completion.

Additional information about the training requirement, including answers to frequently asked questions, is available on the Compliance Services website.

For questions or concerns about the content of the training, including waiver requests or your receipt of a prior waiver, please contact titleix@bu.edu. For technical help accessing the training, please contact the IT Help Center at ithelp@bu.edu or 617-353-4357.

Thank you in advance for your participation in this important training and for your commitment to your colleagues’ safety and a respectful campus environment for all.
