Urban Inequalities Doctoral Workshop: Gay Bars Were Never Safe Spaces
- Starts: 2:30 pm on Friday, December 3, 2021
- Ends: 4:00 pm on Friday, December 3, 2021
Each semester, the Initiative on Cities hosts a doctoral workshop, led by Professor of Sociology and IOC Faculty Fellow Japonica Brown-Saracino, that invites post graduate and Ph.D. candidates to explore the issues of urban inequality. The workshop explores themes that include, but are not limited to: cities and race, economics, health, politics and governance, education, youth, climate change, resiliency, sexualities and gender, marketing, and neighborhoods.
The workshop is open to doctoral students from across the university and brings together students whose work addresses both theoretical and policy concerns.
Join Dr. Greggor Mattson, the chair of Sociology at Oberlin College, for a workshop on his work “Gay Bars Were Never Safe Spaces”
