FLOYD<\/a>,\u00a0a New Hampshire native, developed his first\u00a0full-length play,\u00a0<i>Absence<\/i>,\u00a0during\u00a0his time as a playwriting student at Boston University.\u00a0<i>Absence<\/i>\u00a0was\u00a0co-<wbr \/>winner of the Kennedy\u00a0Center\u2019s Jean Kennedy Smith Award and a finalist for\u00a0the Kendeda Graduate Playwriting Competition. It has had readings at the Lark\u00a0Play Development Center in New York, the Alliance Theatre in\u00a0Atlanta, and\u00a0Midtown Direct Rep in South Orange, New Jersey, featuring Olympia Dukakis. Its\u00a0first full production was at Boston Playwrights\u2019 Theatre in February 2014; it was subsequently\u00a0nominated for\u00a0both the Elliot Norton and IRNE awards for best new\u00a0script. <i>Absence<\/i> has since been produced (in translation) in Norway, Sweden, and\u00a0Italy. In July 2012, Peter&#8217;s play\u00a0<i>The Centipede King\u00a0<\/i>was\u00a0accepted for\u00a0development at the MFA Playwrights\u2019 Workshop held at the Kennedy\u00a0Center. Peter was selected as one of four writers into the New Repertory\u00a0Theatre\u2019s 2012-13 New Voices fellowship program for\u00a0developing playwrights. His\u00a0short plays include <em>The Little Death<\/em>, <em>Perspective<\/em>, <em>Love, Billy Bunny<\/em>, <em>Too, Too Solid Flesh<\/em>, and <em>Evolution<\/em>; the latter two appeared in the Smith and Kraus annual\u00a0<i>Best Ten-Minute Plays<\/i> anthologies for 2015 and 2017, respectively.
