ALEXA MAVROMATIS<\/a> spent nearly a decade at digital design, marketing, and software development agency Shazamm, where she contributed to marketing and brand strategy for clients ranging from local start-ups to Fortune 100 companies. She led a number of project teams to industry award wins in website and interactive design including a Promax\/BDA Design Award and a MerCom Mercury Award. Alexa also contributed the voice-over script for a multimedia piece that was the recipient of a Cable &amp; Telecommunications Marketing\/<em>Multichannel News<\/em> Mark Award. <span>She joined the staff of Boston Playwrights\u2019 Theatre\u2014where she manages marketing and communications\u2014in 2013.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Alexa\u2019s short plays and one-acts\u2014including <em>The Stakeout<\/em> (finalist for the Actors Theatre of Louisville\u2019s Heideman Award), <em>Bone China<\/em>, <em>Jinxed<\/em>, <em>Stew<\/em>, <em>SL1 12:32 a.m.<\/em>, <em>Right-Justified<\/em> (co-written with MJ Halberstadt), and<em> True Blue <\/em>(finalist for the <em>Arts &amp; Letters<\/em> Prize for Drama)\u2014have been produced throughout the U.S. and internationally. Her work has been published in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Best-Ten-Minute-Plays-Contemporary-Playwrights\/dp\/1575257939\/ref=sr_1_2?s=books&amp;ie=UTF8&amp;qid=1517105922&amp;sr=1-2&amp;keywords=the+best+ten+minute+plays+2012\">anthologies<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Creative-Writing-Four-Genres-Brief\/dp\/1319035337\/ref=pd_lpo_sbs_14_t_0?_encoding=UTF8&amp;psc=1&amp;refRID=V9K8MR018MY4JF8YQ78G\">textbooks<\/a> by Smith and Kraus and Bedford\/St. Martin\u2019s; <em>Jinxed<\/em> is available as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.originalworksonline.com\/JINXED-by-K-Alexa-Mavromatis_p_94.html\">an acting edition<\/a> from Original Works Publishing. She is a member of New Perspectives Theatre Company\u2019s 2020 Short Play Lab, where she is developing her play <em>Foul Line<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Alexa\u2019s full-length plays include <em>The Back Room<\/em> (third place winner of the David Mark Cohen National Playwriting Award), <em>Gravity<\/em>, and <em>Pirate Radio<\/em>. She is a past playwriting fellow at New Repertory Theatre, and is a member of the Dramatists Guild, StageSource, and Rhombus Playwrights.
