The density matrix renormalization group (DMRG) continues to be the most reliable way to simulate one-dimensional many-body quantum lattice systems. One important application of the DMRG is its very high precision calculation of the ground states of Hamiltonians. However, its ability to compute low-lying excited states is not as efficient and, despite numerous attempts, there still does not exist a robust algorithm for such task. In this talk, we will introduce a novel tensor network method that builds upon DMRG to compute ground and low-lying excited matrix product state wavefunctions by adiabatically transforming them using the adiabatic gauge potential. We will show that this method is able to efficiently compute excited states with high precision for both integrable and non-integrable Hamiltonians.
