Yang-Mills and Classical Electromagnetism - Part I

The goal of this talk is to give an overview of the mathematical/geometric structure of gauge theory, and to develop the Yang-Mills Lagrangian from this perspective. Classical electromagnetism as a U(1) gauge theory will be developed in tandem as a motivating example.
