Brand: In an action of Escheat the claimants claimed as heirs of the lord from whom the land had been held when a previous tenant had committed felony (or, according to the record, died without heirs). The lord had been the brother of three of the claimants and the kinsman of the fourth. The tenant objected to their joint claim on the basis that the kinsman was a descendant of a full sister but the sisters were only sister s of the half-blood. The court agreed that they had no right to a share in the claim as long as there were descendants of the full sister living and dismissed the suit and advised the kinsman to bring a separate claim on his own.
