Abstract Context
Commentary & Paraphrase
Sjt Skrene: The land is held in Gavelkind, and by custom the heir will have is land when he is 15 years of age, and he can alien his land.
Thirning CJCP: If an heir be able to have his land at such age, yet he is under age in many other regards, as is a female heir.
Hankford JCP: There are some customs in England, that when an infant knows how to measure a yard of cloth, he can alien his land (also said by Sjt Parvyng in 1332.175 = Mich. 6 Edw. 3, pl. 45, fol. 49b-50a)
Thirning CJCP: here before us in this aid prayer, we ought to adjudge his age according to the law of the land
