Science for the People and Take Back the Grid, Boston DSA's energy democracy campaign, are pleased to hold Energy Democracy 101.
The event will include a panel with BU Professor Nathan Phillips, Jen Stevenson from Climable, and representatives from Take Back the Grid. They will discuss the climate crisis and the need for public utilities, especially if we are to meet the decarbonization goals laid out in the IPCC report. Public power is cheaper, safer, more accountable and allows faster transition to renewables than when energy systems are in the hands of private utility corporations. We want energy to be democratized, decarbonized, decommodified & decolonized.
The event is free, and refreshments will be provided. |
