WPDC SheInspires Lunch Series

WPDC is hosting their SPOOKY SheInspires Lunch Series with this month's guest, Dr. Shoumita Dasgupta. Dr. Dasgupta is an eminent scientist educator committed to training future adroit researchers and medical professionals in skills and concepts ranging from genetics to cultural competency. As the founding and current director of BU’s Graduate Program in Genetics and Genomics and Co-Director of the Foundations in Biomedical Sciences Doctoral Curriculum, Dr. Dasgupta’s contributions extend to BUSM students at all levels in their doctoral education. She also serves as a Professor of Medicine, teaching Genomic Medicine to first year BUSM medical students, and as an Assistant Dean of Admissions. In all of her roles, Dr. Dasgupta is constantly finding new ways to improve the quality of education offered here and to teach cultural competency to these upcoming generations of scientists and physicians. Her contributions have led to her well-deserved selection to be a Fulbright Specialist. This position is offered by the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs and World Learning, and sends talented academic professionals to institutions abroad to share their expertise.
