Religion, Spirituality, and Politics: a Boston University Student-Faculty Forum

What is the connection between religion and politics? Listen for a few minutes to the claims people make and you will hear that this religion makes people wonderful, generous people, or that one turns people into terrorists. There are plenty of examples of people making conservative or liberal or reactionary or revolutionary political claims and advocacy on the basis of their understanding of their religious principles. So how do the connections work? Join us as we explore the nuances surrounding religion and politics. Featuring: Pnina Lahav: Professor of Law, School of Law Jeremy Menchik: Assistant Professor of International Relations, Pardee School of Global Studies Anthony Petro: Assistant Professor of Religion and Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies, Graduate School of Arts and Sciences Nimi Wariboko: Walter G.
